One of the most frequent questions I receive is what to wear for a photo session. When you schedule your session, I'll send you a more detailed guide on how to pick those beautiful, photo ready outfits, and you are always welcome to call/email me and get my opinion, but keep an eye on the blog for a new recurring feature I am calling, 'What to Wear.' Hopefully this will help you if you are stuck on what to dress your family in this season. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when choosing your outfits:
1. Avoid words or big logos on clothing. Your eye will immediately jump to them.
2. Avoid obvious trends. These images are going to be on your wall for a long time, and you likely don't want to look at them a year from now and say "what was I thinking?"
3. Forget matchy-matchy. Instead, think coordinate. Pick colors that go well together. Your family is so much more fun and interesting than white shirts and jeans. Show off your personality!
Since I am a visual learner, and I know many of you are as well, I'll be posting example outfits that would work perfectly for a photo shoot. All the clothes below can be found at Old Navy, Gap and Piperlime. Now, excuse me while I continue drooling over clothes I would like to buy rounding up inspiring outfits.
