Valentine’s Day isn’t something that Beau or I have ever celebrated really. But this year’s Valentine’s Day ended up being the day we would be return home from our Florida vacation and reunite with our wonderful little boy. And while the fact that it was Valentine’s Day didn’t have much to do with it, I was reminded of all the things I absolutely love about him (and missed while we were away). Like the dimples on his hands. And the way he concentrates so hard on little things he’s working on.

Watching him learn something new everyday, including ways to make mama mad (like banging objects on the coffee table which in turns creates dents) and throwing balls to daddy. Understanding how to work electronics before knowing how to speak or walk.

His obsession with cups (not just sippy cups) and drinking anything that is contained within a cup. His creative imagination, turning anything into a toy, and more specifically, something that can be pushed across the floor.

And mostly, the sweet, adorable innocence that he demonstrates to every hour of everyday. I may find myself a bit frustrated with the amount of time it takes me to do just about anything these days, but then you hug me close as I sing ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ before bed and I my patience is renewed.
