Birthday Shirt using the Silhouette Portrait

About a year ago I purchased two shirts from Old Navy. One said "one." and the other, "four". They were probably my favorite shirts to dress my kiddos in but as the year went on, and birthdays passed, they became too small and less applicable. On Monday, Ephram turned five. A whole hand of fingers!

I'm still wrapping my head around that one.

But, of course, a new shirt was needed.

I purchased a Silhouette Portrait about a month ago and am still learning all the ins and outs of what it can do, but this was a very simple project I knew I could pull off.

I first designed the text in Photoshop, then reversed the image before bringing it into the Silhouette Studio to trace and cut. (I believe you can design the text in the Silhouette Studio but I'm more acquainted with Photoshop.)

I used Silhouette Flocked Heat Transfer since the Smooth Heat Transfer was not available through Amazon Prime at the time.

I ironed the heat transfer onto a plain t-shirt and it was done!

I ended up liking the flocked more than I expected.

And this kid? I think he'll enjoy being five years old.
