I want to remember how much you looked forward to preschool all summer long. You put on your backpack, shirt, & shoes (no pants) nearly every day of June and part of July waiting until we could go.
I want to remember how you began to learn the months of the year, as you patiently waited for August 26th, your first day of school.
I want to remember how much we discussed how to share and take turns.
I want to remember your impatience as I told you to stand on the front step so I could take a picture I’ve been thinking about taking for years. & how excited you got when we started to get tiny rain drops on us.
I want to remember how you talked about the toys that would be at school the entire drive there. And again, we discussed how you’d share and take turns with the other kids.
I want to remember how you wouldn’t even look at me once we got to the school because of all the other kids/parents walking by. There was so much going on. So much new.
I want to remember how excited you were to get into your classroom and how you listened to your teacher so well.
I want to remember that I shouldn’t have even said goodbye as Alwyn & I left because it made you sad. But I’m sure you’ll have a fantastic day.
