Our first Summer Bucket List activity has been crossed off! And another first for Ephram.

Fourth of July. Flags. Ice cream shakes. Kettle corn. Uncle Sam (who Ephram thought was Santa). Fireworks. A pretty good Independence Day, I’d say.

I was anxious to see Ephram’s reaction to something so loud since thunder does occasionally frighten him. The “test” fireworks they lit off about 5 minutes before the show started did make him nervous and he held on to Beau closely as we waited. But as soon as the real show began, he was thrilled. Actually, he may have thought he was the one creating them! Who knows how that little toddler brain works, but he continually pulled handfuls of grass out of the field and threw them in the air – obviously the same as fireworks. And when he wasn’t throwing grass around, he was shouting out the colors: “Purple! Green! Purple! Green!” It was quite amusing.

The only thing that could have made the holiday better? Family. Maybe next year. :)
