Welcome to Week 39: Sept 23-29
What happened this week: Amazing sunsets. Cute boys. Beau's grandpa passed away. And Date Night!
I don't know why, but we get some amazing sunsets in the Fall and Winter. They probably happen in the Summer as well, but they occur later and further to the west so we miss them if we're inside. This week marked when the sunsets started happening earlier and further to the south, which means we see them right out the backyard windows. As a result, I think I took a picture of each sunset that week. And since I didn't take a lot of other photos, this was a perfect week to highlight them.
To create the "Sunsets" cards, I just diagonally ripped a few of the Jade Edition cards and overlapped them.
On this journaling card I included a couple stickers together to say, "Notice the Good Stuff" and talked about how nice it is to see these beautiful displays of color start appearing in our backyard during a time that I will probably always miss the Fall colors of the North. Focusing on the good.
Beau's Grandpa Jim passed away this week. It wasn't sudden. He'd been in a Care Center for nearly 2 years, but it still was sad, as he was an amazing Grandpa. I copied and pasted his obituary found online into a 4x6 document in Photoshop and ended up cutting off a small strip at the top and bottom to include some more color.
Our Date Night was a bit monumental because it was the first time we left both boys home with a real babysitter. Since moving to Texas we have had our neighbor/friends watch them a time or two, and we have escaped a few times while we've had family visiting, but we had yet to find a babysitter. So this was a big day for the whole family. It's amazing what a short child-free outing can do for two parents, isn't it?
