Back with another two weeks from my 2013 album. Week 34: Aug 19-25
Once again the week was mostly comprised of iPhone snaps. :) Your best camera is the most convenient one sometimes.
Left side: This week Beau & I worked on a DIY mirror project for above the fireplace since we couldn't seem to find one we liked in stores (or online), let alone for the price. We followed this tutorial for the mirror, if you're curious.
Ephram actually asked me to snap those photos of him and Alwyn together. So sweet. Slowly but surely they are developing a brother bond. And I included a silly story about Ephram.
Right side: Every day photos, since nothing big happened this week.
The silly story. And I am still loving how well these Die Cuts/Transparencies from Basic Grey's Knee Highs & Bow Ties collection go with the Jade Edition Core Kit.
Left side: Alwyn started copying Ephram a lot around this time, which is captured well with the photo of them laying on the floor together on top of all the blankets. Along with the start of school, we had our first "homework" to make a page about our family to go in a book at school for the students to look through. I was super excited to work on that, especially since I had a few photos already printed off and ready to work with.
Right side: The main "event" during the later part of the week was Beau's installation of the recessed lighting in the bedroom and living room. It was something we had talked about doing for awhile and I really wasn't sure he'd actually do it. Turns out, it wasn't too hard and the process only took up part of the weekend.
To add a little extra color on this side of the spread I added a clipping of paper to the top of this journaling card. I definitely lean towards the neutrally colored cards when I start putting together a page, but adding little touches like that help balance the colors across the page.
Speaking of journaling cards, for this one I placed some letter stickers on the top of a blank card and used regular old Crayola watercolor paints that Ephram was using to paint over the top of the stickers. Once it dried I took the stickers off. Mostly I just did it for fun while Ephram was painting, but I love how it turned out.
Seriously, these conversations need to be documented somewhere, right! Glad I have this album for stuff like that.
