project life 2013 :: weeks 21 & 22
Two of my favorite weeks in my Project Life album this year.
Week 21 : May 20-26
What happened this week? A lot of ordinary moments. The biggest reason I love this project is because it gives me a spot for these photographs of every day stuff. The photos I love, but don't make it on the walls of our home.
This week was mainly created with the Jade Core Kit. I'd had my eye on it for months and when they became available at Archivers, I quickly scooped one up. The colors in this kit work so well with my everyday photos. If you're having a hard time deciding on a kit, take a look at the colors in your daily photos and see if any of the kits match them. Between our clothing, home decor, and outdoor photos, the Jade kit is perfect for me. Not to mention, it's beautifully designed.
Our Fig tree began to grow tiny figs and I'm in love with this double pink Oleander that was blooming. Ephram learned to draw the number 8 and there was a cute little story that went along with that.
Beau did some landscaping in the front yard and was so full of sweat (Texas humidity will do that) that he left his clothes hanging on the swing set outside. He also put together a DIY water fountain for the backyard, inspired by this pin.
Following our trip to MN, we needed to do a little sleep training with Alwyn. He was waking around 5 times a night and it was solely because I was giving in and feeding him each time. A little fussing one night and the next he slept 8 hours straight. Didn't last forever though. ;)
& yes, Ephram's tantrums are an every day occurrence around here.
And onto Week 22. May 27-June 2.
Another very simple week. A few cards from the Jade kit and a few embellishments. I love simple weeks like this.
What happened this week? I included a photo of the landscaping work Beau did in our front yard from the previous week. Ephram checked on his peaches and we had our first taste of one. We ate a few peppers from the garden, filled with cream cheese, wrapped in bacon, and grilled. My mouth is watering just remembering these. Caterpillars have since done a number on our plants so this was our only harvest. & Alwyn was very clingy. I held him a lot and I loved the way he gripped my arm, so I took a photo of that.
Our neighbor, Cheyenne turned 1. Her party included tractor rides, some time in the pool, and delicious BBQ. Beau bought a few succulents on clearance and I found some cute pots at Michaels to hold them. I also included a card that talked about the death of researcher, Tim Samaras. I think I may go back and add a little note behind the card that talks about just how much hearing of his death impacted Beau & I as former storm chasers and meteorologists.
I also participated in Ali Edwards' Day in the Life this week and included an insert to hold the photos and text from that day. I would love to do this more often but I always seem to forget. It's such a good way to capture daily routines that don't always show through with my typical weekly photos. It ended up being an interesting day to document as it was the day of the El Rino tornado.
Project Life is a simplified memory keeping system created by Becky Higgins. It reignited my interest in scrapbooking my life and memories. Check out previous posts about my album and why I do it here. Have questions? Leave a comment!
