Last week's layout share was all about being simple. While I love keeping things simple sometimes, I also love playing around with fun embellishments occasionally. These are two layouts I played with recently. The first is photos from Memorial Day 2010. Just another reason I'm loving documenting past years: I love these photos and yet never did much with them.
Some of the cards that came in the Studio Calico Camelot kit were almost too pretty to use! Almost. That May card had a calendar on it but since I was using in my 2010 album, the days weren't the same, so I hid that part with the beautiful gold foiled "enjoy the adventure" card.
It's not often I use photos from a single day to make an entire spread, but these photos are super special to me and deserved a whole page.
The second spread is Week 17 from my 2014 album.
I love the colors in this spread: greens, yellows, & some blues.
I'm still attempting to add a favorite song in each week. This week's was Kacey Musgraves' 'Silver Lining' so naturally I needed to use some silver paint over the Project Life alpha stickers on a 3x4 grid card.
I didn't find a spot for one of my favorite photos this week in the regular spread so I experimented a bit with a layout insert. This is what it looks like added into the weekly spread. I sewed it into an 8.5"x11" page protector so it floats in the center.
& a close up of both sides.
2 photos + 2 Project Life cards + a few small embellishments. I'm not sure regular layouts are my thing, but it was fun to experiment.
